Breaking news!

The person who is in so much trouble is not Chiquita, but rather Jakita! Jakita Price is in fact a senior here and she used to live in my room when she was a sophomore!

I've been taken off the collection agency's call list, so...I don't think I'm going to do anything more. I'm having kind of a moral issue, wondering if I should warn her, but...I don't even know this girl...and maybe she is being tracked for a reason. Then I wonder if I should tell the agency. *Hell* no. They can earn their paychecks and find her on their own.

And now on to more immediate concerns of my own.

I promised I'd call my mom today and, since I'm such a good girl, I did. We talked about a bunch of things, but one of the more...interesting...developments concerns my father and his job hunt. Alliance Consulting (where a bunch of my dad's friends are on the payroll [two of the Bobs and Roy]) has offered him a great 4-6 month job with Bank of Canada. Great, right? Maybe. The catch is that he would have to live in Montreal.

I don't know how I feel about this. And from what I can tell, Daddy doesn't know how he feels about it, either. They're being pretty nice about it, saying they'd pay for him to fly back on the weekends. The last guy working up there had to leave because he did nothing but fight with the people in the office. I think Daddy can avoid that, but I have to worry someone will make some kind of age comment and he'll get his Irish up...or better yet, his New Yorker up. That's another thig I'm worried about. My poor old American, Republican NewYorker Daddy in the icy heart of French Canada. His very existance may be enough for him to get his ass kicked! And the weather! It'll be so cold!

He'd also be quite alone. I know it's just him and my mom at home, but still. At least it's someone. And the dog! He'll really miss the dog, too.

At the end of the day, though, he needs a job. One, we need the money. Two, he needs to show he can still do good work at his age. And three, he's getting dull just sitting at home. He's really a very smart person, but he's getting progressively less sharp as he sits at home. It's like kids over summer vacation, except this one has lasted two years.

I just don't know...
