Music: Shakira - Estoy Aqui
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Blatenly pilfered from V.
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Spent a good amount of time in Europe.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Didn't really have any for 03. I tried to set some realistic goals for this year and I really think I can acheive them. Hell, it can't be that hard to keep my room livable.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not this year..
4. Did anyone close to you die? Yes. Mr. Wargaki and the little girl across the street, Julia.
5. What countries did you visit? Canada, Ireland, and England
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? As shallow as it sounds, a boyfriend.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? That last party at Kyra's where we said what we thought were going to be our goodbyes to Matty.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Opening up to the people in college and making real friends there
9. What was your biggest failure? Hard to pin-point one big one. Maybe my failure to make a final desicion on what I want to do with my time in college.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Bad bad stomach problems a couple of times.
11. What was the best thing you bought? I'm thinking my Gamecube. It gave me another way to spend time with my friends. You'd be surprised at the kind of bonding that can be accomplished while using a cartoon plumber to kick around a cartoon rat.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? A's
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Everyone has their moments. Including me.
14. Where did most of your money go? DVD's or CD's.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Christmas Break.
16. What song will always remind you of 2003? Hard to pick one. Probably my all-time favorite song: Across the Universe.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? More in flux between the two more often. But overall happier
ii. thinner or fatter? teeny bit thinner. Overall in better shape
iii. richer or poorer? poorer
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? hung out with the people in my house
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Killing myself over work
20. Did you fall in love in 2003? pft. I wish.
21. How many one-night stands? Zero and I'd like it to stay that way
22. What was your favorite TV program? Law & Order, baby!
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Hate is too strong.
24. What was the best book you read? Orientalism by Edward Said.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery? I think it would be Dropkick Murphy's from early 03
26. What did you want and get? Friends.
27. What were your favorite films of this year? Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, soooo many more, Kill Bill...Jeez. Now I'm having trouble distinguishing between the movies I liked that came out in 03 and the ones that I just saw for the first time in 03
28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 19 and had all of my friends over for a Super-Basement-Night.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Having had someone to share the ups and downs with.
30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? This past semester, feeling a bit free-er without the constantly judgemental eye of my roommate, I wore a lot more color and a lot more hats (w00t for hair-related laziness)
31. What kept you sane? Not a lot. Probably my alone time in front of the TV and the AIM.
32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I'm not usually the type to "fancy" a celebrity, but Johnny Depp is beyond fantastic. I'll admit it! I've watched Sleepy Hollow on mute.
33. What political issue stirred you the most? I heard about every single move the government made. I just can't get riled up anymore. It only encourages the Wolf Pack.
34. Who did you miss? V. Seriously. There were a million times when I needed her advice and overall presence.
35. Who was the best new person you met? The C and H-ers. I finally found a place at Bucknell.
36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003: Things are not always going to be perfect. I have to make the best of the good times and slog the the bad ones with optimism.
37. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, exciting and inviting me."
