Music: The Carpenters - We've Only Just Begun
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My purse is gone. For no good Goddamned reason, it's gone. That purse had everything in it...my car keys...my wallet with credit cards, drivers liscence and social security card...my iPod...It's all just dissappeared.
No one would have stolen it. I knew everyone in the house yesterday. My car is still here, so no one has used the keys and registration card to find it and steal it. And when I cancelled all of my cards today they showed no transactions. That indicates that the purse wasn't stolen...
But where the fuck is it? My friends have helped me tear the house apart, but the purse seems to have stopped existing. We can place the purse on the table at 2:00 a.m on Sunday, but after that it seems to have been moved by the person that cleared the table off for room for food. But no one knows who did that! How can 8 hours be blank? How can NO ONE know who helped straighten up the lounge!? Maybe someone put my purse away, but doesn't remember where they put is so they don't want to say anything...
I...I don't want to replace everything...what if I found it tomorrow? I already feel like a retard for leaving my purse down there this one time, how would I get over having blown another $300 on an iPod because of my own stupidity.
People wonder why I'm so paranoid about taking any kind of risk...Well, here's your fuckin' answer. As soon as I act as careless and easygoing as the rest of the world, this kind of shit happens. It's just my luck.
Music: Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In these troubled times of group projects, looming research papers, and impending final exams, it is helpful to ask ourselves an important question:
WWADAJMcCD?
What Would ADA Jack McCoy do?
My favorite of the two big group projects I'm working on is my International Law simulation. I'm on the Prosecution team and having a real blast doing it. The group even trusts me enough to do the opening statement! It's so fun! And everyone in my group is *really* good at what they do. We've found bundles of sticking points and gotten through every time. We rule!
I know now that I really *love* legal stuff. I want to go to law school *now.* Screw this International Relations stuff. I want to go right to law school. I don't even know if I want to go in to international law or criminal law now. They both seem fascinating.
And now I've figured out something else: I'm going to go to Spain in the fall of 2005.
What can I say? The program sounds fantastic. And I could use a little adventure in my life. I'm always so afraid of new things...it's about time I tried something. It's going to be hard, but at least Michelle and Lauren will be there too. The one thing I do worry about is my mother. Of course I miss her from time to time, but not as much as she misses me. She's already chomping at the bit for me to come home for Thanksgiving. When I go to Spain, quite frankly, I'm not going to be coming back until December. I really don't know how this is going to work out. But, then again, the mother and father are the ones encouraging me to go. Oh well. It's so far off. Best concentrate at the task at hand...or looming ahead...
