Music: Flogging Molly - Salty Dog

I took some really awesome courses while I was in college that made me see deeper meaning in everything from sports matches to statue placement. I read this article about the Ireland v England rugby game coming up and initially thought the obvious "Ooo this should be interesting Go Ireland."

Well...this gets more complicated considering where they're playing: A place called Croke Park. It's famous for being the spiritual center of Ireland's national sports: Hurling (I still have no concept of what this sport would look like played), and Gaelic football (soccer but with throwing the ball sometimes. Crazy fun to watch as many of these guys can throw like NFL quarterbacks). So yeah let's put some English guys in there and watch the fur fly if they seem even a LITTLE disrespectful. That's a pretty obvious call...But it get's even more awkward-tastic:

Croke Park is the site of the Bloody Sunday Massacre. 14 people were killed in 1920 when the Brits opened fire on the crowd and players...now over 80 years later there's going to be English people in there again....Yeah. This isn't going to be awkward AT ALL. Yeah right.

All I'm saying is that these English Rugby Players are going to need to be very very very very careful. Shit. Even I would be looking for an excuse to turn on them in there.

I will be looking for this match on every ESPN my cable company has. They might even show it....because America loves a good trainwreck....

...Go Ireland...
