Music: Ben Folds - Zak and Sara ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm ronery...oh so ronery....
I knew this week was going to come, but I never had any idea just howdull it was going to be. I've been by myself in this office for half an hour and I'm already going nuts with boredom in addition to already having failed to help a client (I don't know anything about anything, so there's really not much I can tell these poor folks when they ask me stuff). God only knows how Marilen did this for 5 friggin' years by herself....
On the plus side, I'll be getting a sizable paycheck this week. Mainly because I have no choice but to come in at exactly 10:00 and stay till 5:00...or is it 5:30....I'll have to call and ask about that one...
With regard to the paycheck, I'm not even super thrilled about that. I know I'm just going to blow the whole thing on comics and Take 5 bars...perhaps the occasional new skein of yarn....I'm really just breaking even with this job thing. As soon as I have money, I decide it's time to spend it. The only way I've been able to maintain my nice healthy checking account is by not having a job and living off of birthday money for miscelaneous expenses (food and rent are thankfully not things I've ever had to think about).
Apart from work, my stack of books has grown out of control. I have so many books now that I feel like I'm behind on something. I still want to read The Barrytown Trilogy, but now there's On The Road to contend with. And what about Catch 22? Am I ever going to finish that book? Don't even get me started on Ada, or Ardor...
My dad has finally gotten himself some free time as well and has himself run out of books...Which puts me in an awkward spot...I love my daddy and all...but I hate lending out my books...especially ones that I haven't read yet. I have a feeling he'd love The Barrytown Trilogy, but I have't gotten to it yet so...boo on him. And even lending him books that I've already read, I get a little anxious...what if he makes more creases in the paperback's binding? Those are my creases. I don't want his creases too....As it stands, I brought down Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and A Star Called Henry for when he finishes the book that mommy got him yesterday despite the fact I'm not sure he'll like any of them. I know there's not much he can do to Extremely Loud, but the other two are paperbacks and that makes me cringe...
I know it sounds silly, but I get a bit protective of my books. Especially around him....considering he CONTINUES to deny breaking my copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets...
